Sisters of Socorro | Scuba Diving Blog

This year's Socorro season has been blinding, with some fantastic sightings of whales, and more sharks than ever. Of course, the only way to visit Socorro is by liveaboard, and we work with two awesome boats that know Socorro's waters better than anyone. Between them, the Rocio del Mar and Quino el Guardian have visited this isolated rocky pinnacle

hundreds of times, and their crew and Divemasters are experts on Socorro's marine life.

Rocio del Mar

The Rocio del Mar is a steel-hulled boat, well-designed to tackle the sometimes-lumpy crossing from San Jose del Cabo on Mexico's Baja California peninsula.

You can read all about the Rocio on the Bluewater Travel website.

Guests particularly love the service they receive onboard, rating the crew and Divemasters as some of the most friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable in the industry. Add to this the top-notch food, and the experience is hard to beat.

Quino el Guardian

The sister ship of the Rocio, the Quino was introduced in response to the excellent marine biology work that was being carried out around Socorro and the Sea of Cortez. She offers Citizen Science Expeditions where divers can join renowned scientists to dive and discover the amazing marine diversity of the region.

You can read all about the Quino el Guardian on the Bluewater Travel website.
